Practice typing 
Mastering Home Row keys

When you practice typing mastering Home row keys try typing very slow in order to get your fingers acquainted with these Home Row keys.

You can now look at the screen as you type these groups of letters.  Glance at your hands to make sure your fingers are using the right keys.

We will practice typing mastering home row keys with our left hand first.

  1. Remember you are practicing these home row keys because this will always be home for all eight fingers. 
  2. Before you start typing always place your fingers gently on these home row keys asdf;lkj.
  3. first sit with your back straight your elbows tucked in your feet flat on the floor and your eyes on the screen.

Remember the keys for your left hand are asdf. 

Your left little finger only presses the A

Your left ring finger only presses the S.

Your left middle finger only presses the D

Your index finger only presses the F.

Tap each finger gently as you practice typing mastering home row keys

Using both right and left hands to practice typing mastering the home row 

Type with the eight fingers and both thumbs to practice typing mastering the home row keys.

Do not forget to press the spacebar with your thumb after every group of four letters.

End of Lesson 1b Practice typing Home Row Keys

Keep typing each line until you feel comfortable using your fingers for the right keys to practice typing mastering home row keys.  Try not to look at the keys.  Remember to look at the screen. Glance at the keys to make sure your fingers are using the right keys. Do not worry about making errors. 

Take your time and press the right key slowly in order to get into a pattern of pressing your fingers on the correct key.  Neither feel down if you find yourself sometimes pressing the wrong key.  As you practice which takes time it will eventually pay off well.  So o not give up keep moving those fingers.

Learning to type using all eight fingers and both thumbs teaches your hands where home is so that your fingers will always find their way back home whilst typing.
